Signatures Of Foods: A Fascinating Health Concept

THIS IS THE COMMENCEMENT OF AN ARTICLE I STARTED TO WORK WITH 10-12 YEARS AGO. I HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY WITH SEVERAL WEBSITES (that is pretty time consuming) AND THIS TAKES A LOT BUT IT'S VERY INTERESTING - I'M SURE SOME OF YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME.

Health Signatures In Various Foods

This article is about a phenomena that has been referred to as the "Doctrine of Signatures" and popularized in the early 1600s and practiced previously by people who believed in a Creator God who made many foods and herbs to resemble different parts of our bodies to give us an indication that they are good for that area of our health and could bring healing to certain
conditions.

Some Christians remembered a verse in their Bible that said "I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food” when noticing the remarkable resemblance to our brain, heart, ears and eyes etc and they started adopting various foods into their diet as different foods - in this light – became part of their conversation. They felt that God had revealed this insight to them. There were Chinese people who practiced this also……because our Creator's 'signature' on these foods and herbs are nothing short of AMAZING when you realize. I have been aware of this for some time but thought I would research it.
So I share with you my findings. ENJOY!

Oh I should add that Scientists of Today are researching many of these Herbs and Foods. They are looking into them and finding stunning accuracies to their medicinal values! It's nice to make new discoveries is'nt it? I kept finding a repetition of a small handful of veges……so I pursued it further. I was so keen to find more myself in this venture, just a few didn't satisfy me. Personally, I like to call this phenomena the Signatures of Foods, and I will do my best to group them for you with a combination of INFO I have gleaned! Shall we go? We will start with Five of the most interesting ones in more depth than you usually find.

First there is CARROT the obvious one. Have you ever noticed that the uniform pattern in a slice of carrot closely resembles our EYES with the markings of the IRIS? This is because they contain Beta Carotene that converts to VIT A that enhances blood flow to the eyes and benefits their function. Carrots are also a good source of two Anti-oxidants that are specific for our eyes known as LUTEIN and ZEAXANTHIN that help to shield our eyes from the effects of light like an internal pair of sunshades. They also help to protect the retina from AMD (macular degeneration) if your dietary intake of these is adequate. They also contain natural SULPHUR for cleansing and collagen of the eye lense.

Next we have WALNUTS really amazing if you look at them__ an exact replication of the shape of our BRAIN…..hey? Each half looks like a miniature brain with a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. The wrinkles and folds it contains strongly resemble the Neocortex. In fact, the inside and the outside of a walnut looks just like our brain. Walnuts are high in DHA, a type of Omega-3 fatty acid essential for brain health. Nuts are noted for their boron content and each one can improve our mental health in its own way and walnuts are no exception.

They are brain food figuratively and literally speaking. One of the best things you can do for your brain is to have 6-8 daily. People from Syria love them and they are really smart! Yes, walnuts are a real brain food__ the fatty acids and the 15-20% protein level nourish the nervous system. We now know that the healthy omega-3 fats in walnuts are great for brain development. They even contain 65% healthy fats that our brain loves because it is 60% Fat. So keep your brain happy and Healthy!

Then there is the TOMATO that represents the HEART with it's four Chambers, that faithfully pumps our Blood every day. Tomatoes are rich in Lycopene, a phytonutrient that has been used for treating cardiovascular disease. It also contains MOLYBDENUM that has a lot to do with how
our cells function
. It relates to the Mitochondria that is the Powerhouse to our cells and this same Molybdenum is required for making our heart beat and the making of New Healthy Cells. No wonder Italians have such strong Healthy Hearts! Their diets are rich in tomatoes 5-7 days a week…….they work long hours as builders and market gardeners etc As a bonus, some of the Molybdenum in our body activates enzymes that are required for waste removal via a metabolic cleansing process of detoxification.

The Lycopene antioxidant is a bonus too because it's only found in a few foods and is richly supplied in Tomatoes – providing they are cooked (this increases the content). Lycopene has an ability to enhance connectivity and communication between cells and it can noticeably improve your skin's texture by aiding cellular functions that are essential to keeping your skin looking young. Lycopene may also strengthen your skin by inhibiting the
activity of enzymes involved in the destruction and breakdown of collagen. So you could say that Tomatoes have Anti-Aging properties and you'd be right. Lots of research has established that tomatoes are loaded with lycopene and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

The popular SWEET POTATO is shaped just like the PANCREAS that has to do with our Sugar Levels. Keeping this gland healthy is a good thing. Along with other foods this veggie can assist when it comes to maintaining our weight. They have been nicknamed the Anti-Diabetes food. Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet-tasting but their natural sugars are slowly released into the bloodstream, helping to ensure a balanced and regular source of energy, without the blood sugar spikes linked to fatigue and weight gain.

Anthocyanins in Purple Sweet Potatoes increase blood sugar metabolism and studies show that they may have a positive effect on abnormal collagen production, a side effect of diabetes that contributes to poor blood sugar control. One study also suggested that anthocyanins may be effective in preventing retinopathy, a diabetic condition that can lead to blindness. The anthocyanins not only prevent an overproduction of proteins but were also shown to repair leaking, damaged capillaries.

Sweet potato provides a good amount of vital minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, and potassium that are very essential for enzyme, protein, and carbohydrate metabolism. This elongated resemblance veggie promotes healthy function in the pancreas. The Orange Sweet Potato is high in beta-carotene, a potent antioxidant that protects all tissues of the body, including the pancreas, from damage associated with cancer or aging. So you can place them in your Low Glycemic and Anti-Aging Diet. YES!

If you cut a MUSHROOM in half and look at it side ways it looks remarkably like our EAR. They have a high content of Vitamin B and Protein for the health of our ears. If you're lacking in B Vitamins, your hearing can be very sensitive – and also magnesium. Mushrooms are a good source of vitamin D, which helps keep your hearing strong. Lack of vitamin D not only weakens your bones, it also weakens your hearing. This is because your hearing depends on the vibrations of tiny bones in your ear that must also remain strong and healthy. 100g of raw mushrooms contain 14mg of magnesium.

According to Dr. Jonathan Wright, low potassium levels may play a role in poor hearing and hearing loss. Whether this is due to low potassium intake or poor functioning of potassium channels in your inner ear, Dr. Wright suggests that you supplement your diet and increase your intake of Foods Rich in Potassium. Don't overdo it though.

Bananas are noted for potassium. Dr Joseph Mercola says if you experience sudden sensorineural hearing loss, new research shows supplementing with the mineral zinc may be beneficial. The Institute for Natural hearing website mentions a study finds that Zinc can improve how quickly people recover after experiencing sudden hearing loss. And Higher levels of this Mineral in the blood are associated with better quality of hearing. They tell you of 4 other Nutrients that are significant for Hearing.

MORE COMING!

For now, that's just enough to wet your appetite possibly. I wish to gradually continue this little project in my spare time that came to mind today. If you look for 'Doctrine Of Signatures' (the Greek term for this phenomena) in Google Images, you will find more of them and you can make up a list of your own - I have guessed a few and been spot-on with my guesswork. It's not hard to do. I will leave you to venture with this topic until I venture with it some more, sometime soon. Hey?
