Naming Children is So Important because most times, they have these Names
for Life. Every name has a meaning that is being spoken when we call someone
by that name.
Some of us are happy with our names, some are not. Nicknames can come in handy when we would rather have a different name. For some people, a change of name becomes necessary when we are really unhappy with our name.
There are some really odd names being used these days like "Carr" for boys and "Atlas" for girls. Seriously, would you like one of those for a name?
I've also met a girl in her 30s whose mother called her "Bo" after a ship and a very nice young man in his 20s whose parents actually called him "Bratt" - that is his official name! Can you believe that!?
Some parents choose names like "Beverly" for a boy or "Charlee" for a girl.
And some websites encourage parents to super-impose a personality or a career on a child through choice of names?
At the end of this Article, I will give you Links for two Extensive Lists of Boys and Girls Names I spent about 4-5 months Researching: Elegant Names and Beautiful Names for Girls and Smart Names and Good Names for Boys. I have also checked for the Countries of Origin (collectively) and Each Meaning. I have selected Names with a Good Sound or Nice Sound AND Good or Nice Meaning.
Caution: Some of the experiences I had on 'Names Websites' were actually Upsetting or Shocking. They encourage you to Impose a Personality OR Occupation on a Child from Birth; some even include Lists of Mean Names; Silly Names or even Names that place High Expectations on a Child to live up to - that is really unfair. Some Websites had some Ridiculous Names included; Names that were hard to Pronounce or a Child to Write. And lots of Inappropriate Names I would Never give a Child - especially for life!

Days of the Week OR Months of the Year get Very Confusing in Conversation; when making Applications; filling Forms on the Internet. Try to think of Something Nicer.
I even came across the mention of a mother calling her little boy "Google" a few years ago, just to get attention on the Media. How thoughtless is that? Can you imagine Kids at School calling out "Hey Google!?" This is one of the considerations we should have when deciding Names for Babies.
I stayed up last night to make some kind of Guidelines for you if you still want to find a Name on the Internet that should prove Helpful in choosing Names because you can Rule certain things out to make sure the Names you choose are Good Names in your Child's Interest when they grow up. Hey? I get Inspirations for different things sometimes:)
Names from TV or Movie Characters are not a good idea. They will be Far Outdated and Your Child might Really Dislike them. They also get lots of questions about those names and wish people wouldn't ask them. So Why Map out Frustration for your Child, just because you like them. The same applies to Names of Politicians and Important People in History.
Firstly I can tell you that Uni-Sex Names which commenced about 1970 are not really a good idea because Men are very embarrassed to have a name so many Women have AND Women do not feel very Feminine when lots of Men have their name. Plus sometimes they have envelopes arrive in their letterbox or Emails with Mr (for Miss/Mrs) OR Miss/Mrs (for Mr)
