SIMPLE WAYS TO REMEMBER THINGS

Think of something (that only) for 8 seconds, nothing else………this will place it in your memory. Especially if you do this a few times in the same day and recall it each day for a few days…….this will help to set it.

If you want to remember names, each time you meet someone, ask their name and address them by their name 4-5 times in the conversation and you will more readily remember it – especially if you recall it later in the day and the next day and the next few days.…

Koala makes itself at home in South Australian woman's Christmas tree after 'wandering in'

By Imogen Dewey | 9:55pm Dec 2, 2020

There are still 23 days until Christmas, but one koala couldn't wait — finding a way into a woman's home in South Australia and making itself comfortable in her Christmas tree.

The Adelaide and Hills Koala Rescue charity shared photos of the animal in its festive new perch this evening.

An Adelaide woman had found the koala nestled among her frosted baubles and snowflake decorations, and called the rescue service for assistance.

At first, the group explained in a post on Facebook, the operator "thought it was a prank call".

"But no, a koala desperate to get in the Christmas spirit had wandered into Amanda's house and decided it wanted to be the fairy on the Christmas tree."…

While I do not have any religious persuasions or church affiliations, I do have time for Jesus and have experienced  a transformation in my heart and life, many years ago that is not found in religion or “Social Gospel” that sadly lacks these days. So many people are cheated of the real thing – don’t sell yourself short.

Why write this article? Because there’s so much happening around us and I feel that people deserve an explanation without religious creeds or agendas. I do love the words of Jesus when they’re not misconstrued – and they afford many answers to life’s situations. Especially the times we are living in that are so baffling to many.

I also feel the mainstream of Christianity has let us down with it’s churchy habits, bless me clubs and “Social Gospel”, often accompanied by superficial expression and sometimes hypocrisy. While I’m not a judge of Christianity or other, I do understand the sentiments of many. So personally, for me, it’s Simply Jesus! Maybe not for you and if so, I hope to encourage you. If you are a Christian and that offends, you’ll need to take that up with Jesus because maybe you are caught up in a “church-habit” that lacks personal insight.…

Inline-Bioo-Panel - Latest Discovery - Renewable Energy

Bioo uses microorganisms in the soil to power lights—and maybe one day, your whole house.

In a park on the Spanish island of Ibiza, a prototype for new renewable energy isn’t a huge spinning turbine or a field of solar panels. Instead, it’s partially hidden underground: a biological battery that is generating energy from the soil itself.

Pablo Vidarte, the 24-year-old founder of Bioo, the biotech startup developing the panel, started thinking about the concept in a dream. “In the dream, I asked, is it possible to treat the leaves of a plant as a solar panel?” he says. “The short answer is no. But there are ways in which you can actually treat nature as a battery to produce energy for yourself without harming [the environment].”

A Natural Earth Solution Aye? | Credit Bioo

As it rains, or when the ground is irrigated, nutrients and microorganisms leach from the soil into the new biological battery. Inside the battery, microorganisms feeding on organic matter produce protons and electrons, sending electrons to the anode and protons to the cathode.…

TALK ABOUT INNOVATIONS, AUSTRALIA IS LEADING THE WAY AGAIN IN AN INDUSTRY THAT REALLY MATTERS - COTTON CLOTHING. THEY HAVE NATURAL COLOURED COTTON FIBRES FROM THE PLANTS THEMSELVES! THEY HAVE REACHED THE FIRST STAGE OF SUCCESS IN WORKING TOWARDS THIS. YOU SHOULD SEE WHAT ELSE THEY HAVE IN MIND - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - COME AND SEE!

CSIRO Scientists Discover How To Grow Coloured Cotton, Removing Need For Harmful Chemical Dyes

By Tim Lee from Landline June 2020

A few dozen petri dishes in a high-tech greenhouse in Canberra hold the potential to transform the global textiles industry. They contain plant tissue, which within days will grow into cotton plants: not standard, everyday white cotton, but ones with a dazzling array of colours.

They are the product of CSIRO plant breeders dedicated to producing better, sustainable natural fibres that will hopefully one day lead to wrinkle-free, naturally dyed, stretchy cotton to outperform synthetic fabrics.

Colleen MacMillan leads the team of scientists who have cracked cotton's molecular colour code, adding genes to make the plants produce a colour.

"Having the cotton produce its own colour is a game changer," Dr MacMillan said.

"We've seen some really beautiful bright yellows, sort of golden-orangey colours, through to some really deep purple," fellow scientist Filomena Pettolino said.…

First the good news about all the bad news you might be reading and seeing these days: Bad news cannot cause depression. Depression is a complex biological illness, and in my professional practice as a psychiatrist, I have seen nothing to suggest that depression rates are rising in a response to the barrage of negative stories we’re hearing and seeing in the media these days. And none of the copious research on depression has concluded that it can be caused by exposure to negative media.

The roots of depression go deeper than environmental factors. After all, some people can suffer trauma and go on to live a normal life, while other people might become depressed over seemingly slight setbacks. Our responses to life’s vicissitudes are determined by the interaction of biology and environment — nature and nurture — and are as individual as each of us.

Choose Wisely - There Are Options!

However, if you’re predisposed to depression or are already in the throes of it, you may find that a lot of time spent absorbing the news — through television, newspapers, or online — can make you feel worse.…

Mental Strength Trainer And Host Of The Mentally Strong People Podcast

Whether you’re tempted to give in to that craving for a cupcake, or you’re about to give up on your goals, perseverance isn’t easy. But before you blame your lack of God-given willpower and before you make an excuse for your less than stellar performance, consider this; it only takes a few minutes a day to build the mental muscle you need to reach your greatest potential.

Building mental strength is similar to building physical strength. Doing 50 push ups a day would only take a few minutes of your time, but doing it consistently would help you build a tremendous amount of upper body strength.

The same can be said with your mental muscle. In just a few minutes each day, you can train your brain to think differently, manage your emotions, and behave productively. With consistent exercise, you’ll build mental strength.

While there are many exercises that can help you grow stronger, here are three exercises that will help you build mental muscle in five minutes or less:

1. Identify three things you’re grateful for.
