Believe It Or Not, Over The Last Few Months In My Area, I Have Seen Improvements In The Way People Are Relating, When Shopping Etc Apart From Some (there are always the few of-course). People Are Showing Empathy And Courtesy In Public Places - Some Are Interested To Exchange A Few Words And Sometimes A Little Laughter Or Smile. Yes, In Some Places At This Time, We Are Actually Experiencing A Sense Of Connectedness Amidst Restrictions Which Are Imposed For The Safety And Benefit Of ALL.

I have been doing some research recently on managing through this time, for my Readers and Visitors.

Some have enjoyed my page "WAYS TO BRIGHTEN THE COMING MONTHS" in a Hope/Comfort In 2020 menu on my Health and Inspirations website HERE Do Enjoy! Now for the following discoveries I made recently (with authors names) it is their work, not mine.

How to Practice Empathy During the Pandemic
By Kendra Cherry

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has led to sweeping changes and disruptions in nearly every aspect of daily life. With mandates and guidelines changing all the time, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by our own anxieties.…

YES, HOURS OF TV AND INTERNET SURFING AND LOTS OF MEDIA OVER OUR "SMART PHONES" ARE PROVEN TO WEAKEN OUR IMMUNE RESPONSE TO VIRUSES, INFLUENZA AND PANDEMICS. COMPUTER GAMES ARE IN THE MIX. I WILL INCLUDE SOME POSITIVE INFO FOR YOU. CHEMICAL LADEN FOODS ARE ALSO A PROBLEM BUT WE WILL DEAL WITH THESE THREE HERE SHALL WE? I COVER NUTRITION ALERTS IN A DIFFERENT POST - A LINK IS PROVIDED AT THE END OF THIS PAGE. WALKING, EXERCISE AND SLEEP ALSO BENEFIT OUR BRAIN. TV DOES NOT - IT DULLS OUR BRAIN BUT I'M PRESENTLY DOING MORE RESEARCH ALONG THOSE LINES AND WILL COVER THAT IN A SEPARATE POST ALSO. I FOUND THESE EXCELLENT ARTICLES ON THESE TOPICS AND WILL PLACE EXCERPTS HERE. THIS CUTS DOWN SOME OF MY WRITTEN WORK BECAUSE I RUN SEVERAL WEBSITES.

How Binge-Watching TV Can Wreck Our Immune Systems - 2018

It turns out there are some surprising daily habits, such as overdosing on our favourite TV Series, that can wreak havoc on the body’s ability to fight off Colds and Influenza.

Nicole Jennings, spokesperson for Pharma Dynamics – a leading provider of colds and flu medication – says the relatively new phenomenon of being able to watch an entire TV series all at once, as opposed to waiting a week, has sparked several studies that attempt to understand how binge-watching is impacting our health.…

SOME NEGATIVE VOICES WERE SAYING "YOU'LL DRIVE EACH-OTHER NUTS" and "THE KIDS WILL DRIVE YOU NUTS" and YOU KNOW THE SAYING: NEGATIVITY STRENGTHENS NEGATIVITY. THE SAME CAN BE TRUE FOR A POSITIVE OUTLOOK - YOU CAN REAP GOOD FRUIT. ONE PERSON SAID THAT "COVID CAN MAKE YOU, YOUR MARRIAGE OR BREAK YOU" - DEPENDS WHAT WE DO IN/WITH THIS TIME AYE? SOME APPROACHES ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS. I WILL NAME A FEW HERE.

I don't want to sound sinchy but I believe that things can work out for Good and have practiced this for some years. You know something? A few months ago, I could see ways our lives could be enriched and improved during this time and sure enough, I'm hearing reports in Good News media of people experiencing that. Stay with me......

Think about it for a minute: things were "rush rush" for most people. Not enough time to do everything, not enough time to spend with each-other and kids........ then think of all the time most of you have now? Think of this as a positive, rather than a negative hey?

Humanity has become a restless tide with unseen influences affecting our values, choices and peace of mind, not to mention the way we relate as families, friends and citizens in daily life. Even the way we work has taken on phenomenal changes for countless employees, office workers and tradesmen and business owners.

We need to stand back from it all sometimes and say “hey, wait a minute”............ we need to find composure aside from the rush and bustle of things that place claims, so to speak, on our time and energies. We need to determine our values to make our lives meaningful and balanced - finding a happier and healthier existence for doing so, in this stressful generation.

We all have values, big or small, constructive or destructive, beneficial or otherwise, yet many of us have not taken much time to think of our values, to actually determine a set of values.

This is a Good Thing and a Healthy Practice for everyone to engage in - even to take a look at our values periodically.

Actually, many of us in our upbringing  have not not been encouraged to establish values, having been brought up with two busy working parents, single parent managing things on their own or business parents - that takes a considerable amount of time and attention.…

Japan has more centenarians than almost any other nation on earth. Take  these 6 secrets to a longer, healthier life.

Want to live to 100? Take a page from the Japanese. Japan has the highest number of people per capita over the age of 100 than anywhere else in the world. There may be some genetic differences at play, but there are also diet and lifestyle practices that lead to longer lifespans with fewer of the chronic illnesses — like heart disease and type 2 diabetes — that are common in the United States. You can improve your health by borrowing these six habits that are rooted in Japanese culture.…

HAVE A LOOK AT THIS CUTE LITTLE CREATURE - A Spotted Quoll - THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL ANIMAL SPECIES TO FIND REFUGE AND REPLENISH IN THIS WILDLIFE PARK DON'T YOU JUST LOVE NATURE? AND WHERE THERE'S LIFE, THERE'S HOPE.

The Kyabram Fauna Park has acquired several new residents in the hope of reigniting their breeding program.

Two Eastern Quolls And A Spotted Quoll Now Call Kyabram Fauna Park Home

The park, which has reopened after a COVID-19 shutdown, has welcomed two southern cassowaries, two eastern quolls, a spotted tailed quoll and a southern koala to their facility recently.

Kyabram Fauna Park General Manager, Lachlan Gordon, said they were excited to share their new arrivals with the public.

"It's been really great to have guests back in the park and appreciating our wildlife and wild places," he said.

Mr Gordon said the lockdown was tough, however working with animals was very therapeutic.

"We were able to get through it okay and the staff and all the animals are absolutely rapt to have people back in the park again to continue spreading that message of conservation," he said.…

THIS IS EXCEPTIONAL, AND THAT'S BECAUSE COMPASSION IS PLAYING A ROLE - WITH PRACTICAL APPLICATION. THIS IS A GOOD BALANCE. IT IS UNFAIR HOW MANY CHILDREN AND TEENS ARE BROUGHT UP. LET'S GIVE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND EMBRACE HER STORY - IT'S ONE OF HOPE. HERE IS SOMEONE WHO TURNED HER STORY AROUND WITH SOME HELP AND OTHERS WILL FOLLOW. WELL DONE AUSSIES!

Tory Puntigam-Locke has come a long way from where she was only a year ago. The 27-year-old was addicted to drugs and serving a prison sentence at Perth's Melaleuca Women's Prison at that point.

"My family has been quite dysfunctional, there's been violence, there's been addiction throughout my family," she said. "I fell pregnant at 17 and I was made to abort that baby and I self-harmed."

Young Woman Forsakes Meth And Finds New Future In WA Reabilitation Centre - Restored

A stint in a mental institution followed but things did not improve after Ms Puntigam-Locke got out. "I was looking for something to escape all that guilt and pain and for a while nothing really worked and then I found meth," she said.…

Up until earlier this year, Luen Free was typically in a dimly lit nightclub, entertaining.

But with the Coronavirus pandemic putting her and many others out of work, she is using the time to pursue her other passion: Organic Farming.

And with the pandemic leaving fewer backpackers who typically go 'WWOOFing' — volunteering on organic farms — Australians are being encouraged to help out on home soil. Soaking up knowledge.

WWOOF stands for Willing Workers on Organic Farms, a worldwide movement that has connected thousands of volunteers — many of them travellers — with farmers who offer food and a bed in exchange for gardening know-how.

From DJ To Permaculture During Pandemic

G'Day Farm co-founder, Greg Dixon, said he and his wife Dionne would struggle to run the farm smoothly without WWOOFers.

They welcome a small number of regular volunteers, who donate a few hours each week, as well as visitors like Luen and her husband Patch who stay for a week or more. "Each WWOOFer we've had, they've been great — a huge help," Mr Dixon said.

WWOOF Australia manager, Traci Wilson-Brown, said border restrictions meant fewer backpackers, who typically make up 80 per cent of WWOOF volunteers — but more Australians were taking their pandemic passion for gardening to the next level.…

This Is An Endearing Story By Terry Turner In November 2015

After he saved a baby deer’s life, he had a hard time returning it to the wild–the little thing refused to leave his side.

Lithuanian outdoorsman happened upon a doe as she gave birth to twin fawns. He hung around to watch the baby deer take their first few steps, and that’s when he noticed something was wrong.

Baby Deer With Rescuer Darius Sasnauskas

One of the fawns had an injured leg, causing the mother to instinctively abandon it.

Darius Sasnauskas couldn’t leave the little deer alone in the woods, so he brought it home to rehabilitate and release it.

Like the Australians did for this lamb, he made a leg brace from an oatmeal box and worked to get the fawn back on its feet.

The fawn quickly settled into life with his new family, sticking by Sasnauskas’ side and playing with their two big dogs.

When the fawn was ready to return to the woods, Sasnauskas hiked out to find a doe who might adopt the baby. It took several tries because the fawn didn’t want to leave the man who’d “fawned” over it for so long.…

THIS IS AN ARTICLE I FOUND FROM DECEMBER 2018. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW OUR BARRIER REEF IS NOW AFTER THE 2019/2020 SUMMER. I HAVE A FEW DVDs OF UNDERWATER LIFE IN AUSTRALIA BY A CINEMATOGRAPHER DAVID HANNAN - THEY ARE SUPERB AND VERY RELAXING. WE IN AUSTRALIA OUGHT TO INVEST IN MORE VIDEOS LIKE HIS IN CASE OUR WONDERFUL REEFS AFFECTED BY CLIMATE CHANGE CANNOT BE RESTORED. HOWEVER, WE CAN TRY OUR BEST TO LOOK AFTER THEM AS WELL, HEY?

In a world first, a small robot was deployed to plant thousands of baby coral in a mass repopulation project for the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

The LarvalBot is a briefcase-sized underwater drone that recently dispersed over 100,000 microscopic heat-resistant coral larvae across damaged segments of reef.

Robot Makes World-First Baby Coral Delivery To Great Barrier Reef

In a bid to protect the marine life from climate change, the coral larvae was derived from species that have been shown to be especially tolerant of warmer waters. Scientists will monitor the reefs during the coming months to ensure that the larvae grows properly – and if it proves to be successful, researchers plan on developing the LarvalBot so that it can deploy millions more coral larvae in the future.…
